Standing up on a busy subway car, we noticed a Korean grandma who got on and sat down in the only empty spot.
She started speaking. To no one in particular. Just talking.
Talking to the people across from her. Next to her. A few seats away. Mostly she went ignored.
Once the train cleared out a bit more, two seats opened up. Next to grandma. We sat down. Offered her some chips. Costco chips.
Of course, she didn’t leave us out. Chatted to us as well. About what, I’m not entirely sure.
But I do know, she has a new found love of American chips. She let me know by spitting them all over my shoulder while she talked.
