In August and January, during elementary school vacation breaks, elementary kids study more.
They don’t go on trips or play with friends. They go to English camps or take extra classes at their English academy (called “hogwon” – 학원).

Last July, I taught a newspaper class, where the students learned to plagiarize Wikipedia.
This month, Michael Teacher and I are teaching a film/video class, where I get to threaten students to be careful around the tripod, or buy me a new camera. “Your mother will be very upset with you,” I taunt them.
