My 29th.
Tomatoes, tofu, fruit, makkoli, friends and a birthday cake on the beach.
Julie brought her guitar and of course amazed those who had not yet heard her voice.
Then our new Korean friend, who’s English name is Vito (yes, Vito), stopped by after his saxophone lesson and hung out for a bit. He played “Happy birthday” on his sax and then a slightly off-tune version of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” which I warned him not to ever sing for Karaoke in The Philippines.
Happy Bastille Day, happy birthday to me.
