Many years ago, my good friend, Nick, once told me that if you say “rabbit, rabbit” on the first day of the month, before you say anything else, you will have good luck for the rest of the month.

Today I did it. This is going to be a good month. Now it’s written.

Strangely, I only seem to remember this on September firsts. For some reason, every other month is different. But September, it’s just meant to be.

I get up. I think of it. “Rabbit, rabbit.”
