As Julie would say, Korea has a strange new obsession with France.
There are now as many bakeries on the streets as there are Kimbop Chunguk’s, if not more; most are aptly named “Paris Baguette.” Hangul pronunciation? Pah-ree bah-get-tee, of course.
I would say, however, this obsession is slightly misunderstood and of course completely Koreanized.
There is usually nothing ready before 10am, except the day-old hotdogs. Yes, hotdogs. Seriously. Hot dogs.
I’ve never seen a hotdog in a Parisian bakery.
Please enjoy your breakfast hotdog.
